Lord of the League: Why Not Wade?

Posted by meandovine on February 24th, 2009

"The Flash" takes a breather against the Detroit Pistons.

Although Dwyane Wade is not in the running to capture this season’s Lord of the League crown, he’s still a huge threat as spoiler.  After dropping 31 points, 16 assists and 7 rebounds on the Detroit Pistons en route to a 103-91 Heat victory, Cleveland would do well to avoid Miami in the post season.  With Jermaine O’Neal now manning the post, Wade just might be brazen enough to steal a post season series or two.

Without a doubt, Wade is having perhaps his finest season, which comes on the heels of his show-stealing performance in Team USA’s gold medal victory in Beijing.

Kobe Bryant leads a short list of players in the running to capture THE LEAGUE'S coveted Lord of the League award.

MeanDovine predicts:

1. Lakers win title and Kobe captures Lord of the League crown with best record in the NBA, which is very likely.

2. Cleveland wins title and Lebron captures Lord of the League crown by clinching home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, which is very unlikely.

3. Boston wins the title only if Kevin Garnett captures Lord of the League crown, but to happen KG must come harder.

4. San Antonio Spurs will not win NBA title.
